Motivation


  •   to develop our own navigation system  that are more user-friendly
  •  to help user to feel more comfortable and safe using a smart navigation system
  •  to build a navigation system that are more accurate and precise
  •  to help build a mini yet compatible navigation system for target users
  •   to build a system that require less inputs from user
  • to reduce the repetitive alerts from gps narrator that will make some people feel annoyed

Proposed Solution


  • Concern more to disability user.
  • Observe / do some research before develop a device.
  • Think what possibility for future use.
  • Always update ( road / kind of places) by using satellite.
  • GPS device must user friendly and all navigation are working.

To complete our project become successful, we choose 3 methods which is :

iii)  Questionnaire
iv)Observation / mini research

The objectives of project


Positioning
v  GPS provides the user with a precise location by utilizing radio frequencies.
 -The GPS receiver translates the information from at least three GPS satellites to provide the user with a two-dimensional location of latitudinal and longitudinal position on earth.

Navigation
v  Navigation enables a user to process his current location based on GPS data and travel to his desired location, also based on accurate GPS data.
-Any user with a working GPS receiver can navigate to a particular destination, whether traveling on foot, by automobile, by airplane or by ship. GPS navigation is even accurate underground.

Applications
v  GPS has enabled many businesses to operate more efficiently and effectively by providing accurate time.
-Commercial and public transportation companies can save time and money by routing their carriers to less-congested areas. The average traveler can use GPS to find the nearest coffee shop, book store or gas station.

v  GPS also can be used to enhance survival rates in search-and-rescue missions.
-The possibilities are endless, and as the use of GPS technology increases, so will the potential applications.

Facilities
v  GPS provide the easiest way for the users and easy to use the device.
-          People easily use the devices as a spectacles for ordinary people and the sound from the microphone for the disability person.

Target User

v  Pedestrian
-          They can use the devices such as 3D version of spectacles for them to easily find direction of the place.

v  Motorcyclist/ the owner of car / public transport
-          They can wear this devices when they riding the motorcycles. It is much more faster for them to reach the place.

v  Blind people
-          The second devices created for them. They will key in the name of location and follow  the direction told by the microphone.

project milestone


Description of the project




Many device such as GPS navigation devices like papago, tomtom and any other devices can helps people to reach their destination easily and much more faster. Once the users is located their destination through GPS, the location can be identified on a map. Then, users can follow the map to the location stated. This is useful for tasks like locating a unit, finding the route from point A to B or selecting the most suitable route in a real time.

            However, navigation requires map work which is not part of GPS system. Therefore, mapping has to be done using associated technologies which often hesitate the use of portable computers and such gadgets. The application here ranges from simple car navigation system to highly sophisticated packages for aviation and marine navigation and even GPS solutions for use on the golf course.

            Basically, there is only the ordinary GPS for people to use but there are no devices for disability person to search the direction of their destination easily. So, the idea is to produce two more devices that can be use by ordinary people and disability person. The first one is the 3D version of spectacles where people especially for the pedestrian and motorcyclist can wear the spectacles to go somewhere. After they key in the location of the destination they want to go, the spectacles will show them the direction.

The second devices is created especially for the disability person who is blind where they can key in the name of the location using keyboard brail and the microphone will them the direction of the location either they have to turn right or turn left and so on. For example, when they reach at one place, then the microphone will tell them to turn right or left until they reach the real place they want to go.
